May 29, 2020: We Will Always Choose Quality

You may have heard about the meat shortages that are taking place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are happy to report that during this time we have been able to keep grocery shelves stocked. However, these shortages have led to high meat prices. Because meat is the primary ingredient in our products, we have had to temporarily adjust our pricing. You may soon experience price increases at your local grocery store. We are monitoring meat costs and pledge to you that we will lower the price of our sausage as soon as prices stabilize.

We know that this is not an ideal time for a price increase, as so many people are struggling. We had a choice: 1) use ingredients of lesser quality and keep prices the same, or, 2) continue to use the same, quality ingredients we have used since 1949 while slightly increasing the sales price. The decision was easy. We will always choose quality.

April 29, 2020: Responding to Meat Shortages

There has been much recent discussion over the shortages in the meat supply chain due to COVID-19 and those shortages are real. However, our team is working together to minimize any shortages of our products to our retailers and we wanted to let you know some facts about the availability of our products.

  • All of the retailers and club stores that sell our products have an ample supply of our products on their shelves
  • Despite the current shortage of meat due to plant closures, our team expects to continue to deliver the overwhelming majority of the orders placed
  • We are truly grateful for the men and women who continue to work in the meat processing plants across the country. They, like other first responders, deserve our gratitude and continued prayers for good health as we navigate this crisis.
  • At our two plants, we have taken aggressive measures beginning in mid-March to ensure the safety of our team members and have had no absenteeism due to positive COVID test results

We are grateful to our many loyal customers and excited about the many new customers that we have reached recently. We welcome any comments or feedback  that you’d like to send us and look forward to getting back to spending time with friends and family.

This is an unprecedented time in our company’s 70-year history. As part of our nation’s critical infrastructure, we face the important task of providing food to consumers around the country. Our company’s purpose, to enrich lives, takes on new meaning today.

We have framed our response to COVID-19 on three key objectives:

  1. Protecting the health, safety and well-being of our team members
  2. Providing legendary customer service to our retail partners so their shelves remain stocked
  3. Serving consumers during this time when they need us most

Lastly, we are committed to doing our part in the community to support the guidelines from our city, county, state and federal officials so that we can emerge from this crisis as quickly as possible. We are truly grateful for their leadership and guidance during this difficult period. We are confident that we will emerge from this crisis stronger as a company and country.
